My Story:
Léna Goullioud, now in her fourth year of veterinary studies at the European University of Madrid, is committed to advancing her expertise in animal nutrition. Her role as a Pro Plan France ambassador has significantly shaped her professional development.
“My role is to connect Pro Plan with French veterinary students and share useful resources, like LeFilVet, an online nutrition book. I also organise events and take advantage of new opportunities, such as online training, to develop my understanding,” Léna said.
Through the programme, Léna can also access exclusive resources to elevate her understanding of veterinary science. “The programme gives me access to invaluable resources to strengthen my skills as a future veterinarian. Specialised videoconferences, educational materials, and face-to-face interactions with experts have prepared me for clinical practice,” Léna explains. “We do not get this from our standard curriculum. I can interact with skilled veterinarians, access in-depth resources, and participate in projects with other students.”
Beyond supplementary training courses, students like Léna gain invaluable hands-on experiences through the programme. Reflecting on her journey, Léna said: “The experience that left the biggest impression on me was the visit to the R&D centre in Amiens. For two days, along with other veterinary students, we explored NESTLE PURINA facilities and interacted with passionate teams. This immersive experience allowed me to better understand the development of animal feed and to appreciate the full complexity of R&D work.
But the programme is not just about learning – it also fosters collaboration and personal growth. “I built strong relationships with students across Europe and with veterinary professionals. Organising events at my university with Pro Plan improved my communication skills. It boosted my confidence and expanded my network in meaningful ways,” Léna says.
Reflecting on the programme’s personal impact, Léna emphasises that programmes like this are essential for students. Léna said: “A constantly accessible digital platform will be incredibly useful for us veterinary students. We could revise whenever we want, access reliable resources, and easily connect with professionals. It covers areas not covered by traditional university education, especially across pet nutrition, employability and entrepreneurship.”
